July
04:21
|
|||
Diggin' through the boneyard, looking for a cure
For those hot July summer nights
That make me toss and turn
'Cause when you're not here
I'm always thinkin' of you
When I'm all alone there's only one thing... to do
I'm gonna fly my kite all night
You know, I'm gonna feel all right
Watching the clouds roll by
Gazing at the moon and how she shine
I sat out on the front porch with the radio playing soft
I prayed for rain but it never came
Only distant thunder coughed
Now I'm all alone
And it's too hot to sleep
I'm thinkin' about you
Are you thinking... about me?
I'm gonna fly my kite all night
You know, I'm gonna feel all right
Watching the clouds roll by
Gazing at the moon and how she shine
I walked down to lakeshore and cast a stone into the waves
I thanked the Lord for the summertime but I prayed for cooler days
Now the sun's almost up
And I haven't got any sleep
Been too busy thinking about you
To be counting... Any sheep
I'm gonna fly my kite all night
You know, I'm gonna feel all right
Watching the clouds roll by
Gazing at the moon and how she shine

Hello To You
05:01
|
|||
The sky is falling or so I'm told, my gut says to run and hide
There's a darkness pounding at my door so I've locked myself inside
The shadows hanging over me make it so hard to see
The light that's shining next to me, I can hardly believe
That every day we say goodnight
In my arms I hold you tight
And I think
"I can't wait for tomorrow, I can't wait for tomorrow, I can't wait for tomorrow..."
I may never say how much I love you, but it's always in the back of my mind
The birds outside are now singing to me, and I know it was you all the time
Goodbye gray skies, and hello to you
You bring in the blue

Promised Land
05:03
|
|||
Numb the pain, free my mind
Bring me visions of horror and the divine
Take me away
Take my hand
Take me deep into the promised land...
Wash my eye, heal the blind
Cure my sickness and wake up mankind
Take me away
Take my hand
Take me deep into the promised land...
And forgive me for my sins
For it was you who made me a sinner in the first place
Like Adam and Eve I took the bait
Realized I was naked just like everybody else is
Shame on me... Shame on you... Shame on us...
Let me feel love, I will love everything
Bring me closer to God, closer to understanding
Take me away
Take my hand
Take me deep into the promised land...
Take me away... Take me away...
Take me away from here!

Ride My Bike
05:55
|
|||
When I ride my bike I stare straight into the sun
So I can't see where I'm goin' and I won't see anyone
I see a lot of death on the side of the road
I see a lot of life in the birds and the trees
When I ride My bike
The sun is beating down and turning my skin red
But the sky is so bright and blue and it's just hangin' o'er my head
I see a lot of beautiful women on the street
I sure feel a lot of love from the one that's next to me
When I ride My bike
The breeze is blowing soft and cool but sweat is still pouring down
My head is lost in the clouds, my feet never touch the ground
My legs are turning fast, moving round and round
The dust is flying now, my vision is going brown
When I ride My bike
The rain begins to fall and wash the dirt from my face
Feels like I'm in first place, and it's only a one man race
I may never again make it back to my home
'Cause I know the sun and rain will follow me wherever I roam

I Don't Want To Wake Up
04:17
|
|||
I don't want to wake up
I'm tired, It's cold, and I'm all outta luck
I hear the telephone ringin', I hear the doorbell a-dingin'
But forever I'll keep on singin' "I don't want to wake up!"
I don't want to wake up, I don't want to wake up
I don't want to to move, I've got nothing to lose
I don't want to wake up
I don't want to get dressed
I'm tired, it's cold, and my hair is a mess
And I just bought half an ounce, and my bed's as good as the couch
So once again I'll announce "I don't want to wake up!"
I don't want to wake up, I don't want to wake up
I don't want to to move, I've got nothing to lose
I don't want to wake up
I fear for the comfort of my toes
How cold is the floor? The Lord only knows
So bring me breakfast in bed.. Hell, come back later bring me dinner instead
For nothing more do I dread...
Than having to wake up!
I don't want to wake up, I don't want to wake up
I don't want to to move, I've got nothing to lose
I don't want to wake up

Morning Train
04:23
|
|||
Please wear a flower in your hair
So I know it's you when I get there
If I ever get there at all
Bring all the letters that I sent you
In the mail
And I'll do the same for you
My bags are packed, I've got my cigarettes
In my coat pocket
with some matches and a bottle of booze
I'll be on the train the morning
and if it's on time
then I'll see you in the afternoon
But the train I'm getting on will never get there
And I know you won't be waiting
Because you just don't have the time
You'll never get all the gifts I bought you
I'll never get a hug
And we'll never share a bottle of wine
So I'll just keep on riding that train
Out west to the ocean
And pretend that you're meeting me there
You would be so beautiful by the ocean
The moonlight in your eyes
And the wind blowing in your hair
I've been a long way from home
And I know I'll never see you there
Standing by the ocean with the moonlight in your eyes
And the wind blowing in your hair

Ghost House
05:35
|
|||
[words by Robert Frost]
I dwell in a lonely house I know
That vanished many a summer ago
And left no trace but the cellar walls
And a cellar in which the daylight falls
And the purple stemmed wild raspberries grow
O'er ruined fences the grapevines shield
The woods come back to the mowing field
The orchard tree have grown one copse
Of new wood and old where the woodpecker chops
The footpath down to the well is healed
I dwell with a strangely aching heart
In that vanished abode there far apart
On that disused and forgotten road
That has no dust bath now for the toad
Night comes, the black bats tumble and dart
The whipporwill is coming to shout
And hush and cluck and flutter about
I hear him begin far enough away
Full many a time to say his say
Before he arrives to say it out

Damnation & Hellfire
03:43
|
|||
Well I never been to Hell but I can show you the way
You turn your eyes to Jesus then you turn them away
Then you'll fall and you'll tumble down a firey pit
And on a red hot coal is where your gonna sit
Your gonna fall... Far from grace
If you don't change your evil ways
Your an evil hearted man with intentions of deceit
You keep goin' where your goin' and your gonna feel some heat
Spending eternity in damnation and hellfire
When the Devil gets you boy, your bound to perspire
Your gonna fall... Far from grace
If you don't change your evil ways
Your gonna fall...
Well I've never been to Hell but I can show you the way...
You turn your eyes to Jesus then you turn...Them A-way...

If Tomorrow Ever Comes
06:12
|
|||
Turn off the lights and go to bed
That's what my dear mother said
And don't be afraid of the dark little one
With tomorrow comes the sun
If tomorrow ever comes
And what if tomorrow never comes?
What of all the things left undone?
What will we do, Mother?
If tomorrow never comes...
What if we never see the sun?
Fold up your hands and say a prayer
That tomorrow will always be waiting there
And if it's not then we'll know it's not our fault
If tomorrow never comes...
And if we never see the sun
Don't worry, my son
If tomorrow never comes
